01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

When you want a drink alongside satisfying food, DiningBar LampLight offers a dependable evening option. A good place to begin is the house-smoked platter, a menu staple for more than 10 years. Salmon, capelin, Camembert, sausages, and other ingredients are smoked individually to suit their natural flavours, making an ideal companion to the first round. The house smoking technique carries over to the bar: the signature smoked highball uses in-house smoked whisky, yielding a distinctive aroma that keeps regulars coming back.

Oven-Baked Comforts and Half-Portion Plates

The kitchen covers everything from small bar bites to substantial meat dishes. Hot, comforting plates include beef sinew braised in red wine until tender, a gratin made with that braise, and a sweet, slow-cooked onion gratin. Items like the sweet potato cheese bake and the chef's whim meat gratin can be ordered in half sizes, making it easy to sample a few different flavours even when drinking solo. Those looking for a full meal can turn to the margherita pizza, stretched and baked to order, or the daily pasta prepared in your choice of sauce.

From Draft Beer on Tap to Worldwide Whiskies

The back bar is equally well appointed. Yebisu draft is served on tap with a tight, creamy head, alongside Premium Black and half-and-half pours. Whiskies feature heavily, with more than 50 standard single malt Scotches, over 40 Japanese labels, and more than 30 American whiskies, complemented by seasonal fresh fruit cocktails and wine.

Set in the basement level 1 of an Uchi-Kanda building, the bar stays open until late on weekdays, fitting after-work dinners, late-night stops, and casual group gatherings with equal ease. The scent of smoked specialities and a well-curated back bar make it an easy place to unwind at your own pace.
